Movies, Music and Stories
The arts are important at NewHopeDeaf.
Storytelling, signed songs, movies, pictures can all show how great
God is. They can inform our minds, touch our hearts and feed our
souls.

Movies
Amazing Grace
On March 28, 2008, the Eleanor Roosevelt Dance
Company came to Madrona Elementary for Deaf Awareness Week. We had
the opportunity to partner with Madrona's Vineyard Deaf Club's
Friday night meeting. Here is ERDC's "Amazing Grace". It puts
together dance with sign language to communicate in a powerful way.
We salute Maya Yamada and her dance company!

First Light
On December 9th, NewHopeDeaf partnered with our hearing
church, Shoreline Community Church on their Christmas program. The
songs were interpreted. Cherry Pie Latorre did this ASL performance
solo.
The color changes you will see are not from the lights. The changes
are from the camera itself. There is no sound.
If anyone has pictures or video from that night, please
contact us.
Dumb Christian, Dumb Church episode 1
In Fall of 2006, we went and talked with Seattle Deaf who do not
follow Jesus. We wanted to know that they thought about Christians.
We knew many had bad experiences with Christians.
We asked them for stories about dumb Christians and dumb churches.
This movie shares some of what people shared with us. It is both
funny and painful for Christians. We understand.
Music
Elijah at Mt. Carmel
We don't do signed songs the old way at NewHopeDeaf. We have music
loud enough to feel. Our music and stories move. This example is
from August, 2007. It was written in ASL by one of our members.
Could your video be here? Maybe! The video will need to be from Christians and about God in some way. Questions? Click here.
